The Story of OJ
Mixed Medium: Collage and Acrylic Paint
After hearing Jay Z's 4:44 album I wanted to create a piece of work that embodied the album to me. Being a black person in America no matter how exceptional of a person I may be some people will still judge me by the color of my skin. Today's black culture tries to separate us by the various shades of black: light, dark, brown I'm still a nigga. I decided to use a collage to display the character from the video in different shades of gray and black to show we are all indeed the same. In the background I repeated the chorus that is a bold statement calling out those black individuals who attempt to separate themselves from the black community.
