I am happy to announce that art prints are now available to purchase on my website lizigns.storenvy.com. The two art prints currently available are This Is America and Serena Williams US Open. I created my Childish Gambino art print after watching the visual to This Is America. The music video was full of parody and imagery reflecting the current state of America. I wanted to create a piece of artwork that embodied my perspective of both the song and visual. I love how Childish Gambino will not share his reasoning on his creation and is leaving it up to viewer to make their own perception and interpretation as well a conversation starter for society itself.
After hearing about Serena Williams' wins thus far at this year's US Open I had to celebrate her black girl magic in her black catsuit. An abundant amount on controversy has been displayed in the media about the French Tennis Federation President Bernard Giudicelli banding catsuits stating that players, "must respect the game and place." This catsuit she wore was more than a fashion statement, it had a purpose. Nike specially designed this catsuit for Serena Williams because after giving birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia she suffered from blood clots. Nike stood strongly beside her and gave a bold statement on their social media accounts stating, "You can take the superhero out of her costume, but you can never take away her superpowers. #justdoit " I'm here for this support and black girl magic!
